hey guys let’s talk Shakespeare
am I the only person who never got how hesitation/indecision/inaction was Hamlet’s fatal flaw? like sure he was pretty navel-gazey and mopey, but also he stabbed his girlfriend’s dad through a curtain. it’s a curtain you can pull it aside and check, right? that is not a hesitant person. I think his fatal flaw was that his family was fucked up and he didn’t split Denmark the minute his uncle proposed to his very recently widowed mom
I was supposed to write a whole paper in 11th grade about how he was too hesitant, but instead I wrote about why he was too rash. I think I got a bad grade on it but maybe I was just being 15 and bored and contrarian
